About Us

Ellen and Ed Grant are the owners of The Heritage House.    Over the years we have had several requests to use our model home for weddings and parties.  As with most people, the economy has affected our other businesses of log home sales and real estate.  I have always had a passion for entertaining, decorating and cooking.  So, with my skills and a beautiful building Ed and I made the decision to turn the upper levels of the model into an events facility.

Several events have been held at the model in the last few years including a CD Releasing Party for EB Reece, a family friend and an aspiring singer and songwriter.  I have also been involved with planning parties and meetings not only personally but also for prior employers and community organizations that I have been involved with. My proudest achievement was the creation of The Hospice Holiday House that was held for two holiday seasons.  The events raised over $30,000 with all proceeds benefiting Georgia Mountains Hospice here in North Georgia.

Both of us are active members of the community.  I currently serve on the Board and Tourism Committees of the Gilmer County Chamber and on the Board for Ellijay's Better Home Town Program.  I am also a past President of Gilmer Arts and Heritage. Ed and I both serve on the Dealer Advisory Committee for Heritage Log Homes.  We are members of Cherry Log Christian Church.
